The inaugural recipient of the Jamar Shaw Entrepreneur Scholarship has transformed personal adversity into a powerful mission to uplift others. After overcoming significant challenges, including dropping out of high school, teen motherhood, and a decade of incarceration, ShaTerri, is now dedicated to building a nonprofit that supports women reentering society.

Her organization will focus on re-entry housing, job training, and life skills development for formerly incarcerated women, helping them achieve stability and self-sufficiency. With firsthand experience and a deep understanding of the barriers these women face, she’s committed to creating the resources and support she once needed. Through education and entrepreneurship, she is breaking cycles of incarceration and poverty in her community.
